How much do you charge?
Please view our pricing page for more information on team numbers and hourly rates. Every move includes a team of three or four experienced, reliable, friendly removalists to ensure the best care and efficiency. There’s a 3-hour minimum, plus depot-to-depot time from Jesmond. If you have a different requirement, please get in touch and let us know what you need.
Is there a minimum hourly charge?
Yes, at Move With Ben, we offer a highly competitive 3-hour minimum service duration, as we understand that flexibility and cost-effectiveness are paramount when booking a removalist. This is significantly lower than many of our competitors, which typically charge a 4-hour minimum. We aim to keep things straightforward, simple, and substantially more cost-effective for you.
When do you start charging?
We charge depot to depot, meaning we charge from when we leave Jesmond until we return to Jesmond after completing your home move. During our phone conversation, we will jump on Google Maps and provide you with the additional time required.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. Unlike some moving companies, we don’t require a deposit to secure your booking with Move With Ben. We believe in a straightforward and trust-based booking process. You just need to pay for the entire move in full upon the completion of the job.
How do I pay?
Most clients prefer making an internet transfer via their phone or laptop at the end of the job. For credit card payments, please note there is a 2.2% surcharge.
Do I need to take apart my bed?
No, we handle all standard bed disassembly and reassembly, as well as most household furniture. It’s part of the service, and we’ll make sure everything is set up safely at your new home.
Do I need to remove the clothes from my chest of drawers?
Usually, no. If the drawers are safe to move while full, we’ll keep them in place. If not, we’ll remove them for transport and refit them at your new home. We always choose the safest option for your furniture.
Do I need to empty my fridge?
Yes, at some stage, the fridge will need to be emptied. Typically, the refrigerator is one of the last items we load into the truck, so it’s fine to leave it on overnight and empty it in the morning of the move.
How long will my move take?
Move times can vary based on access, packing, and volume of items. As a guide, a 3–4 bedroom home generally takes most of the day for a 3-man team. After a quick chat about your home and belongings, we’ll give you a realistic estimate so you can plan with confidence.
